SSBM Geneva Governance Structure

SSBM Geneva is a board-governed higher education institution operating as a comprehensive academic and research organization.

SSBM’s Organizational Chart presents the current governance structure through reporting lines with a Management Board governing the institution’s strategic direction and activities. The Management Board delegates to the President and Academic Dean with their operational teams, the projects that fulfill the institution’s strategic plan.

Governance board

Governance structure defines 7 boards (Faculty Board, Student Council,  Advisory Board, ESG Board, , Alumni Board, Research Board and Management Board). 

The quality assurance system is supported by a board-oriented governance framework that sets strategic aims and objectives, monitors and measures performance against them, ensures accountability and effective scrutiny, and appoints and ensures the effectiveness of all involved boards or stakeholders and a good implementation of processes, mainly the ones related to the quality.

The Management Board is the key governing body of the institution, responsible for managing and supervising the implementation of the institution’s related policies and procedures.

 

Boards

MANAGEMENT BOARD

The Management Board is the governing body of the institution and its principal financial and legal authority. It is the highest authority in the school responsible for controlling the institution and providing strategic direction.

ADVISORY BOARD

The Advisory Board advises SSBM Geneva. The Advisory Board is a body that provides non-binding strategic advice to SSBM Geneva’s Management Board.

ALUMNI BOARD

The Alumni Board provides input and feedback to the Management Board of SSBM Geneva. Its main role is to provide a critical feedback loop to the Management Board.

RESEARCH BOARD

The Research Board encourages and supports quality research, innovation, and creative endeavours. The Research Board promotes basic and applied research and creative endeavours, as well as inter and multidisciplinary research and the production of scholarly and creative works.

STUDENT COUNCIL

The Student Council provides a link between students and the management to address any request, problems or needs that arise from student body. The Student Council’s main goal is to help students solve problems they encounter at SSBM and to support staff in the process of better understanding students’ needs.

FACULTY BOARD

The Faculty Board is the governing body of the academic self-administration and is responsible for preparation of structural and development plans, the decision on the use of funds by the faculty, proposals for professorships and evaluation matters.

ESG BOARD

The Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Board is responsible for advising on the development and implementation of the ESG strategy and global program. The ESG board will be responsible for setting guidance, direction and overseeing policies and progress related to sustainability actions undertaken by SSBM.
