NEWS > SSBM Students Engage with the UN in Geneva

From 15th to 19th of September 2025, SSBM Geneva co-organized a high-level certificate program, “Youth for Peace – How to Advocate & Cooperate with the UN?”, in collaboration with Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights, the program was held both at Palais des Nations (UN Geneva) and on our campus.

This unique program happened together with the 60th Session of the UN Human Rights Council, bringing together youth leaders, experts, and diplomats to explore strategies for advocacy and cooperation with the United Nations.

Key Highlights:

  • Our students delivered a powerful speech at the Assembly Hall of the United Nations, representing youth voices on the global stage.
  • Participants attended a Side Event organized by Maat, hosted at the Club Suisse de la Presse (Geneva Press Club), engaging directly with international human rights experts.
  • SSBM hosted a special workshop in collaboration with Maat, featuring contributions from the International Alliance for Peace and Development and CIDH Africa, a regional network dedicated to human rights in North Africa.

The program blended academic sessions, UN participation, and practical diplomacy, encouraging students to become global changemakers ready to advocate for peace and human rights worldwide.

This marks another milestone in SSBM’s commitment to global education, youth empowerment, and engagement with international organizations, preparing the next generation of leaders to create meaningful change.
