SSBM Geneva Students Explore Humanitarian Action at IFRC

NEWS > SSBM Geneva Students Explore Humanitarian Action at IFRC

Last Friday, our students had the opportunity to visit the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) as part of an educational and professional exposure initiative.

The visit was made possible thanks to the support and coordination of Professor Bethania Monteforte, whose efforts enabled students to gain first-hand insight into the work of one of the world’s leading humanitarian organizations.

During the visit, students were welcomed by IFRC representatives and offered a guided tour of the organization’s facilities. The tour was complemented by an informative presentation that outlined the various departments within the IFRC and explained how they collaborate to deliver humanitarian assistance globally. Students learned about the organization’s structure, operational processes, and the impact of its work across various regions.

This visit provided valuable real-world context to the students’ academic learning, allowing them to better understand how international organizations operate and respond to global challenges. SSBM remains committed to offering experiential learning opportunities that bridge theory and practice, preparing students for impactful careers in international and humanitarian fields.
