We were thrilled to welcome Alexandra Hirsch, the CEO and founder of MyHomies, to our Geneva Campus for an insightful company presentation. Alexandra captivated students and faculty alike as she shared her journey of building MyHomies, a rapidly growing app, and offered invaluable lessons in entrepreneurship, marketing, and navigating the competitive landscape in Switzerland.
App Development: From Idea to Execution
Alexandra kicked off her presentation by discussing the inception of MyHomies. She provided a behind-the-scenes look at the app development process, explaining how a simple idea can evolve into a fully functioning product. From user research to wireframing, and from coding to testing, her insights gave students a real-world understanding of what it takes to bring an app to life.
Mastering Marketing Strategies
Marketing was another key focus of Alexandra’s presentation. She revealed the strategies she used to position MyHomies in a crowded market. Her emphasis on understanding customer behavior and creating a brand that resonates with the target audience was particularly enlightening for our students, many of whom aspire to start their own businesses.
Competing in Switzerland’s Business Landscape
Operating in Switzerland’s highly competitive market presents its own set of challenges, and Alexandra offered a candid perspective on this. She spoke about adapting to local regulations, understanding Swiss consumer preferences, and identifying opportunities for growth in this unique environment.
Entrepreneurial Lessons and Inspiration
Throughout the presentation, Alexandra highlighted the importance of perseverance, adaptability, and a clear vision in entrepreneurship. She shared personal anecdotes about the highs and lows of her entrepreneurial journey, leaving our students inspired and motivated to pursue their own business ventures.
We are incredibly grateful to Alexandra Hirsch for taking the time to share her knowledge and experience with us. Her visit was a great example of the kind of real-world expertise that SSBM Geneva strives to bring to our students.
