MBA Alumnus Testimonial

What motivated you to pursue an MBA at SSBM Geneva?

I decided to pursue an MBA at SSBM Geneva to strengthen my strategic and analytical skills and complement my 15 years of professional experience in the humanitarian sector. I was particularly interested in gaining a stronger understanding of modern management practices in logistics and procurement within an international context.

How did studying in an international environment like SSBM Geneva influence your global perspective on logistics and procurement?

Studying in an international environment at SSBM Geneva broadened my perspective on global supply chains, procurement standards, and cross-cultural collaboration. Interacting with professors from different countries helped me better understand diverse approaches to problem-solving and decision-making, which is highly relevant for work in international organizations.

The MBA enhanced my ability to think strategically and approach procurement and logistics not only from an operational perspective but also from a broader organizational and value-driven standpoint

Can you share a memorable experience or challenge during your studies that helped you grow professionally?

One of the most challenging parts of the program for me was the Financial Statement Analysis and Financial Management modules, as my professional background is primarily in procurement and operations rather than finance. For one assignment, I had to analyze a company’s financial statements and assess its financial performance using key ratios such as profitability, liquidity, and leverage indicators. Initially, interpreting financial data and linking it to strategic decision-making was challenging. I dedicated additional time to strengthening my understanding of financial concepts and practiced applying ratio analysis to real business cases. Successfully completing this assignment significantly improved my confidence in working with financial information and enhanced my ability to evaluate the financial implications of procurement and operational decisions.

Looking back, how did your MBA at SSBM Geneva contribute to your long-term career success?

The MBA enhanced my ability to think strategically and approach procurement and logistics not only from an operational perspective but also from a broader organizational and value-driven standpoint. It strengthened my confidence in contributing to complex projects and long-term planning.

Would you recommend SSBM Geneva to professionals working in an international environment?
