At SSBM Geneva, applied learning remains at the core of the Bachelor of Business Administration experience. In line with this commitment, a mandatory workshop titled “Solve like a Consultant” was recently hosted for Bachelor students at the Geneva campus, offering an immersive introduction to structured problem-solving in a real business context.
The session was led by Filip Tomčić, Head of Financial Operations, who guided students through the principles of analytical and structured thinking commonly used in consulting and corporate decision-making environments. Drawing on practical insights from his professional experience, he introduced frameworks that help break down complex business challenges into clear, actionable components.
Rather than focusing solely on theory, the workshop adopted an interactive, case-based format. Students were actively engaged in a hands-on exercise designed to simulate a real-life business scenario. Working through the case, participants applied structured thinking techniques to analyze the problem, identify key issues, and propose data-driven solutions.
This experiential approach enabled students to directly connect classroom knowledge with practical application, reinforcing both their analytical capabilities and their confidence in tackling ambiguous business problems.
Initiatives such as this workshop reflect the institution’s broader educational philosophy: equipping students not only with academic understanding, but also with the practical skills and mindset required in today’s fast-evolving business environment. By integrating real-world cases and industry expertise into the curriculum, SSBM Geneva continues to prepare students for future roles in consulting, finance, and management.
The “Solve like a Consultant” workshop marks another step in strengthening the bridge between academic learning and professional practice within the BBA program, ensuring students graduate with both knowledge and applied problem-solving competence.
