The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of human resource management and their application in contemporary organizations. The course has been developed to offer the conceptual fundamentals to start a career in HRM.

Topics covered include: trends in human resource management, job analysis and design, planning and recruiting human resources, personnel selection, training and development, performance appraisal, pay and benefits, the importance of managing human resources globally and creating and maintaining high-performance organizations.

In general, lectures will provide a broad overview of the topic and explain key concepts to be used to understand the real phenomenon of the business world. Cases, selected on the basis of their relevance to the course content, will be discussed in class in order to develop students’ skills in applying this knowledge to practical situations.
