Dr. Tamara Gajić, DBA Mentor at SSBM Geneva, has recently co-authored two international research papers exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence, cultural heritage preservation, and sustainable tourism development.
The first study, Artificial Intelligence in Gastronomic Heritage Preservation: Governance and Community Acceptance in Tourism Contexts, examines how AI can support the preservation and interpretation of gastronomic heritage across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and North Macedonia. Based on research involving 571 respondents, the study highlights the importance of transparent governance, community participation, and culturally sensitive implementation in the use of AI within tourism and heritage preservation.
The second paper, From Heritage Preservation to Sustainable Transition: The Role of Low-Carbon Narratives in Forest-Based Tourism, explores how communication frameworks influence perceptions of forest heritage tourism and sustainability. Through a combined qualitative and experimental approach, the research demonstrates that future-oriented low-carbon narratives generate stronger visitor engagement and more positive attitudes toward sustainable tourism practices.
These two studies contribute to a deeper understanding of how emerging technologies and strategic communication can support the sustainable tourism practices. They underline the importance of aligning innovation with cultural sensitivity and community engagement, while also demonstrating how interdisciplinary research can inform more responsible, inclusive, and future-oriented approaches to heritage preservation and tourism development.
