Biography

At the Faculty of Economics in Osijek in 2008 she obtained her academic degree of Master of Sciences defending the master’s thesis with the title “Dynamic Analysis and Evaluation of Market Risk of Long-term Investment Projects”. In 2012 she was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Social Sciences, scientific field of Economics, Finance with a doctoral thesis under the title “Impact of Risk on the Justification of Investment Projects in Agriculture”.

Her professional career started in 2001 in the retail sector and continued in the NGO sector (microfinance program). From 2003 to 2015 she was employed in the financial sector, working at UniCredit Group, Corporate banking department at Zagrebačka banka.  From 2015 to 2018 she was working as an assistant professor and a Head of a Chair in Cultural Management at the Department of Cultural Studies of the University of Josip Juraj Strossmayer of Osijek (UNIOS) and from 2018 as an assistant professor and a Head of the Department for Culture, Media and Management at the Academy of Arts and Culture.

From 2021 she has been employed as associate professor at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, Department of Finance and Accounting.

She teaches courses in the field of Financial Management, Corporate Financing, Capital Investments Risk Evaluation and Project Management. As well, she is an external associate professor at the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek and at the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Zagreb teaching courses in the field of Economy and Cultural management. She mentored, co-mentored and evaluated numerous BA masters and several doctoral theses.

Ivana Bestvina Bukvić authored/co-authored numerous scientific articles and was a peer reviewer for scientific journals and conference proceedings. She is a member of organizing and programme committees of several scientific conferences, a member of editorial boards of proceedings of papers and invited lecturer at panel discussions. She was a head researcher of the research project “Prerequisites for the Development and Economic Significance of the IT Sector” and a contributor to the research project “Investigating the Impact of Promotional Activities on the Development of Audiences of Generation Y National and City Theatres in the Republic of Croatia”. She has participated in the application and implementation of several projects of international interinstitutional cooperation and projects of cooperation with the industry. The Academy of Arts and Culture awarded her for scientific research projects and organization of the Department’s work.
