Biography

Aleksandar Erceg, Ph.D., is an associate professor at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. Previously, he was a deputy purchasing manager at two local production companies in Osijek (Saponia d.d. and Kandit d.o.o.). During his 20 years of experience in Saponia and Kandit, his tasks included organizing purchasing departments and supply chain management and cooperation with suppliers, customs authorities, and logistics companies.

He earned his Ph.D. in Management from the Faculty of Economics in Osijek in 2012. The topic of his doctoral thesis was franchising and its influence on entrepreneurs’ growth strategies. He has published more than 30 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and co-edited several books. His research focuses on entrepreneurship, franchising, operations management, lean thinking, sourcing and silver economy.
