Barunava is currently working as a Mentor for the DBA students of SSBM Geneva. He has recently superannuated as Chief Manager – Distribution at CGM Office EZ, Kolkata. In his earlier profile he handled supply and distribution of petroleum products in the eastern states of India and also the N-East region including Sikkim. He was also responsible for supply and distribution for the petroleum products in Bhutan. He has completed a Global DBA from Swiss School of Business Management simultaneously with a remarkable GPA of 4.0. His research area expands the scope of the transition towards a green Hydrogen economy .
He has been associated with HPCL for the past 35+ years and has worked in various strategic business units like Supply-Distribution, Operations, Sales, Lubes, Marketing & Strategy.
Barunava received the “Outstanding Achiever Award” in 2007 from EZ for effecting around INR 2 Cr savings to the organization. He has worked extensively in various cities in the Eastern region .
Prior to joining HPCL, Barunava has worked as a Research Fellow in a joint project with SAIL-R&D, Ranchi & IIT-Kharagpur for about 1.5 years and published 6-papers in Indian Institute of Metals Journal.
Originally from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, Barunava has done his schooling from St. Xavier’s College Ranchi and subsequently pursued his MSc in Chemical Sciences from IIT Kharagpur. He also holds an EMBA in Marketing from NIM, Mumbai.
Barunava has authored two books so far in his career on the topics – Human Relationships & Business Ethics. He has a keen eye for detail and loves to discuss about Business Strategy, Current Affairs, Change Management and Green Economy.
In his leisure time, Barunava loves solving sudoku puzzles & crosswords. He often delves into deep thinking while hearing his favorite Country songs and loves to express his emotions through words.
He has always believed in the fact that quality is essential in whatever task we do in life. It is equally important to give your heart and soul in everything to make it worth the while.
