Biography

Giorgia Scetta currently serves as the Circular Materials Lead at MassChallenge Switzerland, one of the largest global startup accelerators, where she also holds the role of Diversity & Inclusion Leader. She supports and advises more than 100 startups each year, helping ventures scale in the fields of sustainable materials, circular economy, and climate innovation.

Passionate about sustainability and innovation, she started her academic studies in Italy as a materials engineer, then pursued a Ph.D. in Polymer Science from Université PSL in Paris and postdoctoral research at EPFL. Before transitioning to the startup ecosystem, Giorgia built her career at the intersection of science and business, working across sectors from automotive to packaging.

Giorgia is also an expert evaluator for the European Commission and serves in the steering committee for the faculty of Materials Engineering in Federico II. Advocate for inclusivity, she designed the first DEI program at MassChallenge Switzerland, which significantly increased diversity across the accelerator community. Giorgia is a frequent speaker at international conferences and lectures on pitching and innovation.

Curious and driven by the belief that science should serve society, Giorgia enjoys connecting science with industry through innovation, fostering solutions that are not only technologically advanced but also impactful for business and society.
