Howard Stupp, Canadian (by origin) and Swiss, was employed by the International Olympic Committee from 1984 until 2020, spending over 30 years as its Director of Legal Affairs. He did his law degrees at McGill University, where he also obtained an (Electrical) Engineering degree. His work at the IOC covered a wide range of legal-related activities, including broadcasting and marketing agreements, intellectual property protection, the Host City Contract, doping, betting, social media and the Olymic Charter. He is a past Olympian, having competed for Canada at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games in the sport of wrestling, and he won gold medals (in wrestling) at the 1975 and 1979 Pan-American Games. Howard (/”Stupp Consulting”) is currently working on some projects of interest to him, relating to sport and other activities.
