Biography

Dr. Hrvoje Kurtović is a finance researcher and lecturer. He holds a PhD from HEC Lausanne, where his dissertation focused on financial markets and private equity. He also has an MSc from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management and a BSc from EBS University, along with experience as a visiting scholar at several US universities, including Duke University.

Hrvoje has served as a Research Scientist at a Swiss private bank, developing research agendas and methodologies on various macroeconomic and finance topics. He has teaching experience in financial accounting, financial analysis, and capital markets at HEC Lausanne, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, consistently receiving positive feedback from students.

His research spans capital markets, financial reporting, and behavioral finance. He has published in the Journal of Empirical Finance, with additional papers currently under revision at leading outlets. One of his papers has received two best paper awards and ranks among the top 500 downloaded papers on SSRN. His work has been cited by institutions such as Citigroup and Pictet Asset Management, and he has presented at venues including Bundesbank and prestigious finance conferences like the European Financial Association Meeting.
