Josip Burušić, PhD

Professor Josip Burušić (PhD) is a full professor and Head of the Research Centre for Knowledge, Education and Human Capital Studies at Ivo Pilar Institute for Social Sciences and the Director of the Research Unit for School effectiveness research at the Croatian Scientific Center of Excellence for School Effectiveness and School Management. He is member-associate at the Croatian Academy of Science and Arts (HAZU) (in Scientific Council for Education and Schools), member of the Expert Group for the development of the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia until 2030 in the field of education and human resources, and former member of National Council for Social Sciences in the Republic of Croatia (2013-2017). As principal investigator he conducted more of 60 research projects, and cooperated with research institutions around the word (e.g. Germany, USA, Japan, UK, Austria, Finland, France, Hungary, Estonia), published more of 100 publications, and is currently included in several international bodies, committees and panels, actively participate in international research organizations and editorial board of journals. Area of professional expertise include and cover various aspects of management, HRM, organizational behavior, change management, performance measurement and evaluation of policies, innovation management and technological improvement, and all aspects of skills and knowledge acquisition, training, and improvement. Recently completed or on-going research grants are focused on the various aspects related to STEM – science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, including digitalization and climate change.
