M J Xavier is a Professor of Marketing and Business Analytics and the Chairperson of the Centre for Technology and Innovation at LIBA, Chennai, India for the last three years. He has more than 35 years of experience in teaching, research, consultancy, and academic administration in India and Abroad. International assignments include two years in CalPoly University in California, USA, and short stints in Texas Christian University, USA, Buckingham University, UK, SP Jain Institute in Dubai and Singapore, American University of Armenia in Yeravan and PIMS Sri Lanka. He was the Founder Director of IIM Ranchi, India and has also served as the Vice-Chancellor of Karunya University, Coimbatore, India.
He has authored three books and more than 100 academic articles. His book Marketing in the New Millennium won the DMA Escorts Award for the best management book of the year 1999. He holds a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from CIT Coimbatore, M.Tech. in Chemical Plant Engineering from REC (now called NIT) Warangal, and a Doctorate (Fellow) from IIM Calcutta.
He has won several awards that include, Most Motivating Faculty at IIM Bangalore, Chanakya award for Innovative Leadership, Amity Academic excellence award, AIMS award for Outstanding B-school Director, ET Now award for Academic leadership, Outstanding Vice-Chancellor for Academic Innovations and so on.
His areas of interest include, Marketing Analytics, Research Methodology, Data Analysis and Business Analytics.
