Biography

Marco Boldini is a leading authority on financial services regulations, including but not limited to AIFMD, UCITS, PRIIPs, FCA Handbook and Brexit-related topics, as well as on all aspects of funds-related work, in particular on ETFs and ETCs. He advises clients on MIFID II and compliance matters before the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority and the Italian Companies and Exchange Commission. Marco also has deep knowledge of ESG and the fintech sector, particularly blockchain and cryptocurrency matters.

Named Legal 500 UK’s in-house Regulatory Lawyer of the Year for 2019, Marco serves as Italian Honorary Consul in the United Kingdom to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as well as to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Italians’ Private Capital Association in London and of AIMA (the Alternative Investment Management Association).

Before joining Orrick, Marco served as Head of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) UK Financial Services Regulatory practice. Prior to PwC, he served as European Regulatory Director at asset management firm ETF Securities in London. He is a Solicitor in England and Wales and a fully qualified UK Barrister at Middle Temple Inn, a Notary in England and Wales, as well as an avvocato in Italy. Marco currently teaches financial services law at Cass Business School, City University of London.

He also holds a Professor position at The London Institute of Banking & Finance.

Since December 2021, Marco has become a full Professor at the University San Raffaele in Rome where he teaches Fintech Law.
