Mateo Mohorović

Mateo is a finance industry professional, expert in financing and advisory for corporate and project finance transactions with a focus on power, infrastructure, tech, waste treatment and real estate.

Mateo is a Senior Investment Manager in the Development Bank of Austria (Österreichische Entwicklungsbank AG), following investments with strong environmental and social impact component in countries eligible for development assistance according to OECD. Previously Mateo was working in Corporate and Investment Banking division for Central and Eastern Europe at UniCredit Group based in Milan (Italy). In his role he was, among others, responsible for clients investing in power generation plants (wind, solar, hydro) and core infrastructure projects (roads, airports, hospitals) with total cost of up to ca. EUR 1bn and beyond.

He started his career in Finance and Treasury department of the leading real estate developer in Austria, Germany and Eastern Europe (more than 600 completed projects, EUR 6.5bn in assets), covering the role of junior finance manager based in Vienna (Austria). Mateo was also involved in the fundraising activity for the company’s Luxembourg-based and EBRD-backed SICAV fund focusing on alternative real estate investments.

Mateo has ventured also in private equity and hospitality industry in the course of years, living in several European countries, allowing him to gain substantial international and cross-cultural business experience. Mateo holds a second level specialized master diploma from SDA Bocconi and is fluent in English, German, Italian, Czech, Slovenian and Croatian.
