Dario Silic, a prominent professor at the Swiss School of Business and Management Geneva and an esteemed figure in the field of finance and infrastructure projects, recently participated in a high-profile conference titled “Risks, Insurance and Guarantees: Key Factors of Successful Management and Business Protection.”

Joined by notable figures such as Ante Odak of Raiffeisenbank Hrvatska, Boris Centner of Erste&Steiermärkische Bank d.d. (Erste Bank Croatia), Nicola Ceccaroli of BANKA KOVANICA d.d., and Peter Kerkhoff of Marsh, Professor Silic contributed his expertise to a discussion centered on the use of security bonds instead of Bank guaranties.

The panel was moderated by the director of Marsh Croatia, Iva Rogovic Lekic.

Professor Silic explained the challenges from its financial corporate experience in infra projects, especially focusing on elements such as pricing, flexibility and necessary time to issue such insurance instruments. Performance bonds for advance payments, for performance risks during the works and during defect liability period have been explained by Professor Silic.

In emphasizing the significance of communication and education, Professor Silic underscored the importance of such useful and interesting security instruments as back up strategies for construction and other companies in case of limited credit limits by banks.
