As part of this year’s Immersion Program, students from Swiss School of Business and Management (SSBM) Geneva visited the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in Geneva, under the guidance of Dr. Olesya Meskina, SSBM Geneva Professor.
The visit provided students with an opportunity to engage with the international environment that makes Geneva a leading centre for multilateral cooperation, diplomacy, and global dialogue. Home to numerous international organizations, the city offers a unique setting for students to explore the connections between academic knowledge, international affairs, and real-world professional practice.
UNITAR plays an important role in strengthening the capacities of individuals, organizations, and institutions to address global challenges. Its work in training, knowledge-sharing, and capacity development reflects the importance of lifelong learning and international collaboration in an increasingly interconnected world.
For SSBM Geneva students, the visit formed part of a broader educational experience designed to extend learning beyond the classroom. By engaging with Geneva’s international institutional landscape, students can gain a broader understanding of the organizations, initiatives, and partnerships that contribute to addressing complex global issues.
Guided by Dr. Olesya Meskina, the students had the opportunity to connect their academic experience with the wider international context in which business, leadership, and management operate today.
At SSBM Geneva, international exposure and experiential learning are important elements of a learning environment that encourages students to broaden their perspectives, develop a global mindset, and better understand the challenges and opportunities shaping the world.
The visit to UNITAR was a valuable part of this year’s Immersion Program, reinforcing the importance of learning through engagement with international institutions and the global community.
