SSBM Geneva Sustainability Week Recap!

We are thrilled to share the incredible success of our recent Sustainability Week at SSBM Geneva! Focusing on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and green initiatives, we took meaningful steps towards a more sustainable future. Here are some highlights:

For an entire week, we made a conscious choice to go meat and fish-free, reducing our environmental impact and promoting a plant-based lifestyle.

We challenged ourselves to ditch the car and embrace alternative modes of transportation. Walking, biking, and public transport became our go-to choices, reducing carbon emissions and promoting a healthier lifestyle.

Single-use plastic was the enemy! We made a collective effort to eliminate single-use plastic from our daily routines, significantly reducing waste and protecting our oceans and environment.

Our combined efforts resulted in an astounding 2.5 tonnes of CO2 reduction compared to a typical week. Together, we made a tangible impact on climate change!

Our staff and students at SSBM Geneva participated in a series of informative workshops:

“Human Sustainability” with Deborah Abbott, Presentation of the EcoHero, “Sustainable Fashion” with Vera Lalchevska, “Sustainability and How to Apply the SDGs” with Bethania Monteforte Sassero and “Sustainability @ SSBM Geneva” by Gal Oberhofer Dimitrijević.

But that’s not all! We’re just getting started on our sustainability journey. Mark your calendars because this October, we’re taking it to the next level with our Sustainability Month!

Throughout the month, we’ll be hosting a series of engaging events, workshops, and initiatives aimed at further embedding the SDGs into our core values. Together, we can create lasting change and shape a brighter future for all.

Join us in our commitment to sustainability!
